is the first on-demand multimedia portal showcasing spoken words
on ideas, culture and public affairs from the world’s great leaders,
thinkers, writers and opinion makers.

CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS 2002-2003
VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING AND SALES, WESTERN REGION
Responsible for strategic and tactical management of marketing,
sales,
programming, new product development and budget planning for region
serving
over a half million customers, generating over a half billion dollars
in annual
revenues.
> Directed and built a regional marketing team and field marketing
groups
throughout the Western region.
> Responsible for launch and market penetration of Video On Demand,
High
Definition TV, High Speed Data, Interactive TV and other new products

> Myrio. Managed marketing and

VOD/cable/broadband ADSL service provider; negotiated content deals

proposition.
> China Broadband. Developed western content
package and negotiated
deals with major studios and cable networks; advised on strategic
and tactical
marketing issues for this mainland China interactive broadband startup.
> ZDTV (Tech TV). Managed initial marketing
process for launch of Ziff Davis
cable TV channel; managed brand development, hired and supervised
agencies,
supervised marcomm projects.
> OnLine Education. Developed strategic marketing
plan and provided
marketing consulting services for Hong Kong-based pioneer in the
online delivery of
post-secondary education programs.
> Seminars. Developed and presented Internet
marketing seminar in 3
Australian cities for Austrade; and Internet start-up marketing
seminar for AMI,
largest Brazilian interactive media association.
FOXTEL 1995-1996
DIRECTOR OF MARKETING
Responsible for marketing and launch of Australia's leading cable
television system,
overseeing strategy, advertising, direct mail, promotions, and other
marketing
functions during national launch of service.
• Rupert Murdoch publicly called FOXTEL "the most successful
cable TV launch in
the world ever.”
• Hired and managed national marketing group, including staffing
of 4 regional offices.
• Managed AU$30 million marketing budget.
• Created campaigns with agency which resulted in 2-1 unaided
brand awareness superiority over number two competitor.
• Developed joint marketing campaigns with Telstra (telephone
company partner).
SACRAMENTO CABLE 1992-1995
DIRECTOR OF MARKETING
Responsible for strategic planning, sales and marketing, new business
development, ad sales, customer service and public relations.
• Grew system to 230,000 customers after period of stagnant
subscriber growth.
• Repackaged premium services, reversing decline in premium
volume, and resulting in dramatic unit growth.
• Developed first local cable online service, winning CableVision
Magazine Innovator of the Year award for system.
• Built commercial sales program introducing new products
such as Capitol Channels and achieving top DMX (digital audio) sales
performance in nation.
OGILVY & MATHER DIRECT 1991-1992
DIRECTOR, HOME ENTERTAINMENT DIVISION
Launched and managed home entertainment division for O&M Direct,
world's largest direct marketing agency.
• Sold campaigns to cable operators around U.S.
• Developed series of direct mail, DRTV and other direct marketing
campaigns and materials.
HERITAGE CABLEVISION 1989-1991
DIRECTOR OF MARKETING, SAN JOSE DIVISION
Responsible for system revenue goals, sales and marketing, customer
service, programming, commercial development and public relations.
• Grew subscriber penetration for first time in 10 years.
• Doubled premium channel subscriptions after decade of no
premium growth, winning CTAM Case Study competition in 1990 for
repackaging program.
• 175,000 customer system was recognized as a national leader
in pay-per-view performance.
JONES INTERCABLE 1986-1988
DIRECTOR OF MARKETING, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Responsible for rebranding and relaunching company after purchase,
overseeing
sales and marketing, ad sales, programming, and community relations.
• Grew subscriber penetration 5 points in first full year
after years of flat penetration growth.
• Doubled ad sales revenue in 2 years.
• Won CTAM Case Study Award in 1988 for retail tie-in promotion
with Baskin-Robbins, recognized on the cover of CableVision Magazine.
• Won international Telly Award and 8 Jones Intercable field
marketing awards.
• Achieved over 30 percent increase in cash flow in 1987 in
70,000 customer system.
C-SPAN NETWORKS 1983-1986
DIRECTOR OF MARKETING
Responsible for cable network marketing, including affiliate sales,
affiliate relations,
underwriting, and consumer promotion.
• As first marketing director for C-SPAN, hired and managed
network marketing staff.
• Grew C-SPAN subscriber base 65 percent.
• Launched C-SPAN II with 8 million subscribers, record industry
launch at that time.
• Hosted and scripted 2 live call-in shows each week with
politically prominent guests such as Bill Bradley, Cesar Chavez,
Strom Thurmond, John McCain, Nancy Pelosi and Alan Cranston.
• Won 3 Cable Advertising and Promotion awards.
